Extra Tall Door Gate

Initial thought was the solid construction. Guess I expected it to be a bit flimsy or wobbly but was very impressed. 2nd impression was of the ease of putting it together & installing it. Went up quickly & smoothly. I would have liked the parts to be marked & instructions a bit clearer but visually, the parts answered any questions I had. It's a basic set up in that regard. We have multiple cats & this is working perfectly. No more zippered screen doors with Velcro periodically replaced from broken zippers. Only issue I have now is wondering why I didn't do this sooner.. Thomas. Whitewater, WI. Wed Oct 07 2026

This is currently separating my 3 cats from my mom's 2 cats that all recently moved in. Best gate ever keep them safe and able to see eachother and become familiar with the new kitties. It's easy to put up and going in and out of the gate is a breeze as there is no floor lip from the gate to trip on.. Deena. CA. Sun Oct 11 2026

This one-piece pet gate features a height that extends from 47.2" to 87" (120 cm to 221 cm). Width Adjustment: Small: 27.5" – 31.5" / Large: 27.5" – 37". It effectively prevents cats and large dogs from jumping over while maintaining ventilation. The gate height is easily adjusted via a pull-out mechanism, making installation quicker and more convenient. It is securely fixed with four support points at the top and bottom, ensuring a sturdy and wobble-free setup. The double-lock latch design eliminates worries about clever cats opening the gate. It is suitable for multiple scenarios such as balconies, passages, staircases, and doorways.

This gate is exactly what we needed to keep our new kitties safe and separate from the other resident cats for a slow and successful integration. It looks great and allows us humans to walk in/out with the convenient latch. I installed it very quickly with no additional tools. Highly recommend!. Patty. PA. Wed Oct 14 2026

This was a PITA to put together but it’s doing the job and it feels pretty sturdy. I was worried my house would look like a prison cell but it actually looks better than I expected!. Shannon. Yardley, PA. Sun Sep 27 2026

With a super-tall 74-inch height, this gate effectively keeps cats and large dogs from jumping over, while the narrow 1.37-inch bar spacing keeps small pets from squeezing through. Designed for everyday ease, it features one-handed operation and swings open 90 degrees in either direction—and closes automatically when opened at an angle of less than 90 degrees. Installation is quick and simple, with dual mounting holes for extra stability, and it fits door frames up to 96.5 inches high. Wall protectors prevent damage to your walls, and the adjustable width (30.3–38.2 inches/30.3-47.2 inches) ensures a snug, custom fit for your doorway. This versatile pet gate is perfect for doorways, stairways, and more—keeping your pets safely contained wherever you need them.

I do love the design of this gate. It’s so tall that my kitties can’t go over, around, through, or under. I even like the way it opens to let me go through, without having to negotiate a bottom rail to trip on. It locks securely and was easily assembled and carefully packed. It’s attractive and exceptionally useful. My only concerns: My doorway was not true. It apparently is a few millimeters wider near the top than bottom, so the center doesn’t meet the same way in the top as bottom. This is not the fault of the gate, so I did not deduct a star. My other concern is that there’s a lot of plastic parts. I wish all the components were made of metal. However, since I had no problem with the metal parts during the month I’ve used it, no deducted star there, either.. Janice. Durant, OK. Thu Jun 25 2026

The height of our safety gate is 55.1 inches, thus effectively preventing pet cats from jumping out. It will be a perfect tall and wide cat gate if you have pets at home. Perfect for use in doorways, hallways, kitchens, and stairs, is the perfect solution for keeping your home safe while allowing easy access for you and your pets.

Easy to install. I bought it to block the cat from going into my son’s bathroom (she likes to do her business in his shower drain…. not that that has anything to do with the gate lol) She could easily scale the 4’ fence so I bought this gate. It’s sturdy. Has some weight to it … doesn’t feel cheap. I put it up a year ago and no troubles at all. It was a great purchase.. Kelli. US. Thu Sep 03 2026

The 71" extra-high gate can prevent cats from jumping over the gate and also prevents children from climbing over it. The space between the fences is very narrow at 1.37 inches, which prevent puppies, kittens or children to squeeze through or get their heads stuck between the fences. And this safety gate is adjustable in width, making it possible to safely divide areas where pets or babies should not enter, such as kitchens, entrances, or staircases. It can be adjusted to fit the space, making it very convenient.

This gate worked extremely well for us when we needed a way to keep our 3 huge dogs (1 is 88 lbs) away from our contractors. Stayed firmly in place without being screwed into the wall and was very secure when you lower the little lever that locks it in place.. Rachel. New Braunfels, TX. Sat Aug 29 2026

This versatile cat gate stands 55 inches tall—significantly taller than most gates on the market—effectively preventing agile cats from jumping over and providing secure containment. Its ultra-narrow 1.37-inch pipe spacing keeps even small pets safely inside, while the two included extensions allow this tall pet gate extra wide to fit openings from 29.5" to 43". Designed for convenience, this pet gate with cat walk through features a one-handed pass-through door and a lockable small pet opening, along with a low-profile ramp to prevent tripping and accommodate smooth crossings. Ideal as dog gates for doorways, stairs, kitchens, or laundry rooms, it creates secure zones in multi-pet households. Installation is tool-free and wall-safe, with no drilling required.

I absolutely love this gate! It’s tall and strong enough for my two big German Shepherds, keeping them safe durning renovation of 1935 home. No more jumping over pet gate, love the sturdy door that locks easily too. Super easy to install! Versatile in several fits! 5 STARS! I highly recommend this pet gate.. Audrey. Fri Sep 18 2026

I really love this gate. The only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars is I wish it were a little taller. My cats figured out how to jump over it (straight from the ground), so I wish it were a little taller. We added a cardboard topper as a work around.. Jordyn. New Port Richey, FL. Sat Sep 19 2026

Note: This is a combination set consisting of a gate and a height extension. The Extra Tall Pet Gate comes with an adjustable cat door to let cats pass freely while restricting larger dogs. The height extension part prevents pets from jumping over, and narrow bar spacing stops small animals from squeezing through. Constructed from sturdy reinforced metal, it adopts tool-free pressure-mounted installation without drilling or damaging walls. Suitable for doorways, hallways and staircases, this sleek pet barrier matches most home styles and is ideal for multi-pet households.

I needed a gate for the bottom of our stairs, but the opening is much wider than a normal doorway, so finding one that actually fit was a struggle. This one worked perfectly! I love that the extensions allowed us to fit the entire opening without having to drill a bunch of holes (because we did NOT want to drill into the banister) or come up with some weird DIY solution. Once everything was adjusted and tightened, it feels very sturdy and secure. The gate itself is tall, the bars feel solid, and I really like the support piece at the bottom because it helps keep everything stable. The door is also a good width, so you can actually walk through comfortably instead of having to turn sideways every time. Another big plus is that it looks nice especially with our black accents throughout the house. I was worried an extra-wide gate would look huge and awkward in our living room, but the black actually looks really clean with our space. When we don't need it closed, the gate opens up enough that it doesn't feel like the stairs are permanently blocked off. Installation took a little adjusting to get the tension right across such a wide opening, but once we got it set up correctly, it was absolutely worth it. If you have an awkward or extra-wide staircase/opening and regular baby or pet gates aren't wide enough, I definitely recommend this one. Very happy with it!. Dana. Houston, TX. Tue Oct 06 2026

Lock could use some improvement. Dog was able too push it open. He probably had to work at it but he did get it open.. William Hearney. Browns Mills. Thu Sep 10 2026

70.98" Extra Tall Pet Gate for Cats, 29.5-40.6" Extra Wide Cat Gate with Adjustable Cat Door, Pressure Mounted Easy Walk Through Pet Gate with Door for Stairs, Doorways, Kitchen

Works perfectly to keep the foster kittens where they need to be but they can still be part of the household.. Nyal. Yakima, WA. Fri Jul 03 2026

NOTICE:Please measure before purchasing to ensure proper fit. Important: Do not cut off the rolled strip before installation is complete! As a pet parent, I needed a gate that actually works. My clever Husky kept escaping flimsy gates, and my curious kitten almost got stuck in wide bars. This military-grade aluminum barrier solved it all. Its 1.37-inch spacing stopped my kitten’s head from slipping through, exceeding safety standards. When my 90lb Labrador charged the gate, the 4-point compression system held strong—no wall dents! I installed it in my hallway using modular extensions, then moved it to block the basement stairs. The 180° swing opens smoothly when I’m carrying groceries, and the magnetic latch snaps shut automatically. Now I sip coffee worry-free while my pets stay safely contained.

Works perfectly and it’s easy to set up and heavy duty. Love the self close and lock. I appreciate that the gate swings both inward and outward for ease of use.. Thuy. US. Tue Jul 28 2026

Please measure before purchasing to ensure proper fit. Do not cut off zip ties before installation! I needed a gate tall enough to stop my jumping pets without damaging my walls or making daily life harder. This 61" extra tall pet gate finally solved it. My cats can’t leap over it, and the 1.37" narrow spacing keeps even kittens from squeezing through. I installed it in under using the pressure bolts—no tools or drilling needed. When my hands are full of groceries or laundry, I can still open the gate easily with one hand. The auto-close feature gives me peace of mind, while the 90° stay-open mode makes moving through the house effortless. Strong, secure, and renter-friendly, it keeps my pets safe around stairs, kitchens, and off-limit rooms every day.

SO easy to install. I only wish the door was wider.. Cinnamon. WI. Wed Jul 29 2026

Keep your adventurous feline safe with our Extra Tall Cat Gate—designed to block even the most determined jumpers! Standing at an adjustable 74.8" to 98.4" height and with an adjustable 33.9" to 41.7" width, this sturdy barrier prevents agile cats from jumping over. Its transparent design offers an elegant, minimalist aesthetic that seamlessly blends into any room, providing basic functionality and preserving your home's sightlines. Whether you're blocking off restricted areas or creating a safe zone, this gate is the ideal choice for multi-pet households.

This extra tall pet gate is designed well and setup is mostly straightforward. The specs on the web site claim that this gate will expand up to 42 inches wide and this is simply not true. I was only able to get this to expand as far as 40 inches, see attached photos. When you latch the doors in the center there is only so far you can adjust the left and right sides. I maximized the width and 40 inches is it. Wayfair should update the specs on their web site. Other than that the gate works as intended and I would recommend it as long as you are aware of the 40 inch wide maximum gate dimensions.. Paul. SC. Sun Oct 11 2026

I really like this acrylic door because I need to keep a cat in a certain area of my home. The only thing that needs to be resolved by this company is the acrylic is so scratched and I thought it just needed to be cleaned but it has scratches that are horrible on both acrylic panels. Picture this: It’s 6 AM, and your curious tabby is pawing at the kitchen cabinets while you brew coffee. With our narrow pet gate’s instant pressure-mount install, you’ll secure the doorway in seconds–no tools, no frustration. Just press, twist, and go! The magic? That self-closing hinge silently swings shut every single time, whether you’re carrying groceries or rushing to answer the door. No more chasing escape-artist pets down the hall! I tested this gate in my RV during a cross-country trip–mounted it between the driver’s cabin and living area to keep my terrier from jumping on the dashboard. The steel-alloy frame held firm even on bumpy roads, and the matte black finish didn’t clash with my oak interiors. Back home, I moved it to the basement stairs using hardware mounting (included screws took 5 minutes!). Worried about clever pets? The triple-curved bar design stopped my Bengal cat’s Houdini acts–those 1.5-inch gaps are too narrow for squeezing, yet wide enough for airflow. And when my hands are full? The ergonomic thumb latch unlocks with a gentle nudge (I’ve opened it holding a laundry basket AND a squirmy puppy!). Whether you’re blocking off the litter box zone, protecting heirloom rugs from claw marks, or creating a safe nursery perimeter, this gate adapts. Over 2,500 pet parents report zero escapes after installing–some even use it as a decoration-friendly barrier for Christmas trees! I got this to keep my cats out of the laundry room and my mom’s room. It didn’t fit my doorway at first—I should’ve measured better—but I managed to make it work. I had a zip-up mesh door before, and going back and forth was such a hassle. This makes it so much easier, and I’m happy with it!. Stephanie. West Bloomfield, MI. Thu Oct 01 2026
