Dynamic Variable Lumbar Chair

Inspired by the natural flexibility of a leaf, the Fern chair is designed to naturally distribute weight as you move. At its core is our patented Wave Suspension system, which mimics the human body and cradles your spine. The three-part back responds to your every move — it’s a total innovation in comfort and support. Fern is upholstered in sustainably made, high-performance digital knit — our signature material. Because each is engineered to exact dimensions, there’s no leftover material and zero waste. This chair is Greenguard gold® certified to be free from over 10,000 chemicals to help contribute to cleaner air in your home. And it satisfies the most stringent level of environmental standards from the Business and Institutional Furniture Manufacturers Association.

The chair itself is extremely comfortable. Unlike other ergonomic chairs, the design and color are absolutely perfect. It offers plenty of features and adjustments, making it easy to dial in the perfect posture. However, whether the factory was backed up at the time or I was just unlucky, the first unit arrived with quite a few scratches, so I had to get a replacement. The new one still has a small scratch on the armrest, but I’m just going to keep it since I really don't want to go through the return process again.. Jungwoo. Lewisville, TX. Sun Aug 02 2026

This Gesture chair was designed by Steelcase to be confident, intentional, and highly evolved with simple sophistication. The design was meant to inspire confidence that it would deliver a great experience time and time again. The key design driver was to fundamentally rethink the chair based on the movement of the human body and the way we work today. Gesture won the Neocon Gold Award in 2013.

Very happy with the colors I chose. Quality of material is high. It arrived pre-assembled in a giant box. It was well wrapped and there's not a nick or scratch on the chair. Since working from home I burnt through a $400 chair in 2.5 years. I decided to make the investment in a higher quality chair. So far when I sit in it my sciatica goes away and my body is just immediately comfortable. I'm only 5'3" and my feet can actually firmly be on the ground. Very happy that I went with the Gesture. It adjusts to fit my height and the arm rests come in closer. I think this chair would still be great for average height people, but it's adjustable so that it works for smaller builds too.. Sg. USA. Very high quality, easy to put together, and strong. I am a 6' 3", 310 lb man, and this chair is big even for me. Definitely recommend. I also purchased for the head support, and it is the prefect height for my head. The headrest is not height-adjustable, which is the only downside I see. The wheels roll smooth. The armrests lowest level is a tad high, but that doesn't bother me or my posture.. Josh. Minneapolis, MN. Sat Apr 18 2026

My husband is so excited about this chair. We’ve just moved into our new build and I am doing a completely new office for him. The desk is arriving in a week but his chair arrived today, ( I paid for the assembly service, they’ll be here tomorrow) I showed him what I picked out and he is overjoyed with my new modern design. The gold standard in office seating, the chair redefines the concept of traditional task chairs.

I spend a lot of time on my computer editing photographs and this chair is a comfy, good posture reminder. Only negative is that the "freedom component" for the backrest doesn't work for me (pushes against me) as I am a 125 lb. weakling. Hahah. I think if you're a much larger framed and jacked person it may work for you.... Marianne. Sun Feb 12 2023

It is a contemporary, decor-friendly, adjustable office chair with lumbar support. And while we can all agree that’s important, they are in fact, superficial basics that everyone has, and not true ergo-enhancements. And if you work, study, or game long hours it’s just not enough comfort, is it? 2D adjustable headrest and seat for the ultimate custom fit our tilting headrest also adjusts to your height, while the seat slides up, and down. Our 5-point base with dual castors gives greater stability and strength over the common 4-point, single-castor chairs. And the other unique thing is we give you a free set of rollerblade wheels velvet smooth on hardwood floors. No, no sweating, sticking, or mesh marks! Forget about wire mesh chairs that leave grill marks on your body. Our smooth breathable mesh provides optimal airflow to avoid sweating and sticking.

Chair is very high quality, it has a very solid feel and is really well made. Assembly took less than a minute and required no tools. Lots of seat adjustments and overall a great purchase. The only thing I'm not exactly crazy about is that the seat cushion is pretty hard and can get uncomfortable after a while. Overall I don't regret the purchase. Great chair.. Matt. Aurora, IL. Flip-up armrests, a lumbar support, and swivel and tilting functions make sure this office chair suits you and your space.

well the first thing that comes to mind is the speed of shipping that came very fast. the chair itself is awesome. I just could not find a comfortable counter height chair for my counter height kitchen table so I was thinking out of the box. I assembled it in probably a half hour to 40 minutes without any problems. I especially like the longer handle allen wrench with the bar at the end of it that made screwing in the screws a lot easier than a little finger allen wrench that you usually get with stuff. all the parts were there all the screws lined up without difficulty. chair is basic with nice coloring and ample padding on chair seat and arms. I am able to reach around while sitting to adjust the lumbar support. this chair has a rocking mechanism which I was not aware of but I havent dialed that in just yet but there is a knob to adjust the rocking mechanism. the height adjustment is pretty straightforward you have to not be sitting on the seat to raise it up. the seat is wide enough so I can sit with one leg under in a cross leg position and that was a big plus for me. the armrests lift up fully out of the way. I have lvp vinyl in the kitchen so these caster wheels slide across very easily. the foot rest is also what I had to consider and this one is perfect. all in all this is a perfect chair for my counter height kitchen table and it supports my wide load without difficulty.. I work a full-time remote desk job, and I am still happy with this chair after 7 months of use. It’s comfortable, sturdy, and highly adjustable. As someone who is only 5’2”, this is the first time I had an office chair that would allow me to be in the ergonomically optimal position of having my feet flat on the ground, so that has been a real improvement. Also, good office chairs are stupidly expensive, and while this one was not exactly cheap, I felt like it was more reasonably priced than many, especially because I got it on sale.. Leah.
