This door was easy to install and works well! I like the locking feature so we can prevent our cat from going on the sunroom as needed. It also locks one way, so either going in or going out. This is likely not what many people are using this skate for, but were doing it to help socialize our wonderful new dog with my two cats, one of them is not very dog savvy. This is a very nice cat shelter for the feral cat that has moved into my yard . Very simple to assemble, sturdy and looks like it will hold up in the Midwest weather. This is a true sanctuary for feral cats backed by research and designed for the real essential survival needs of the Outdoor feral cat. The exterior is made of fir wood suitable for outdoor use. Very easy to assemble, one person can assemble it in half an hour.

My feral cat had kittens in this box about 4 months ago and has been sleeping in it at night ever since. She goes underneath to lay in the shade, and also sits on top of the house to get a view. It’s cute watching her teach her kitten how to use it. Whole thing is insulated in the interior and made of wood. The wood will start to split in the weather which hasn’t affected it structurally so far, but if you’re handy it would make sense to cover the exterior with a coat of poly.
