The lift mechanism is a little stiff at first, but it does loosen up with use. I lift it up and down several times a day and it’s already improving. My only two minor drawbacks are that I wish it were a little taller and slightly bigger. Not dramatically, just a bit more presence. That said, it works for my space and I still love it. It has a couple fixed shelves and has a lift top that covers a storage area. The sides slide so the storage are is accessible and the shelves are too. It’s a nice table with hidden storage.
