I was pleasantly surprised with how easy it was to build. You do need a screwdriver for the door handles which is a little silly considering the rest of the pieces just click together. It is STURDY, I misaligned the one door and it took some serious muscle to get it apart. Given that the item is for cats who are notorious for chaos, I think that’s a good thing. The doors on the front are nice and secure, no swinging open and the side flaps for the litter box access are easy to use. My cat was swatting them before I had even finished the build. The second I set this cat bed vanity stool down, our kittens Samwise and Linus jumped in it and on it! I could not believe how pretty the wood and green leather seat were when I took it from the box.
