The King Cal bed frame arrived in two boxes, and thankfully, it was in perfect condition. Assembling it with two people took about three hours. The frame had numerous pieces that needed to be put together, which is why it took so long to attach each rod to the bed. Fortunately, all the necessary holes and screws were included in the product. I only needed to use a few additional items to ensure everything was secure. The bed’s lights and plugs add to its comfort and convenience. Bought this bed for my 14 year old daughter. We redid her room in black and teal. She needed a new bed frame. As her parents, we wanted a solid wood bed. My daughter wanted a black bed with shelf in the headboard. This bed was exactly what we were looking for. The bed shipped in perfect condition and my husband put the bed together in about an hour by himself. The bed is strong and solid. It's a beautiful piece of furniture. We were surprised by two things, neither negative. The first was the finish on the bed is not flat like in the picture. It is a shiny finish. We weren't looking for a shiny finish but it looks good and will help protect the bed from a teenager. The other is that the headboard has a light in that is turned on and off by touch sensitive buttons, one on each side of the headboard. They work great and it makes using the light easy.. Jennifer.
