Works good and looks nice but it would have helped if the remote control worked. There’s no way to dim the lights without the remote so it is very bright when the room is dark. Update… Contacted the manufacturer directly and they fixed the issue. They were very responsive and sent a free replacement remote control and panel. They guided me through the whole process of pairing the remote and followed through a few days later to see how everything was working. Now it is working 100 perfect!! This is a lovely insert. It's hard-to-find smaller ones, size wise. Many fireplaces are quite large. It can be wall mounted or recessed, but we are building it a cabinet so it can be a tv stand for a small bedroom area. It has a convenient place for the remote. Very pleased! Heat output is excellent even on low! Although, it is only has high and low as temperatures settings. A remote and everything you need for mounting is included. I ordered the 50in linear electric fireplace for my bedroom and I love it. This is the second electric fireplace I have gotten and the other one I got was by a different brand and while I really like it, I like this one even more for its very subtle controls. I had to really zoom in so you can see them. From standing height you cannot see the switch and you cannot see the blacked out controls on the face of the fireplace.
