If this piece is a combination of solid wood and manufactured wood, I sure as heck can't tell the difference. It's a SOLID piece that honestly feels like all natural wood. That wasn't the best part. My husband and I recently moved into a new home and elected to not bring any of our furniture from our prior one. Suffice to say, I have been assembling LOTS and LOTS of furniture and accent pieces. Lots! This one was the easiest to assemble to date. Did it myself and I'm in my late 60's. Piece of cake. And the end result was lovely. The ONLY negative I can think to say is that I wish that there was an access hole in the back of the top white exposed shelf.
