This is the best idea ever, I love it! I was not thrilled about a dark color so I took fabric and glue gunned it all around the wood pieces after I assembled most of it, their was enough room to do this and it worked great. I used a soft upholstry fabric and also laid batting on the broad surfaces. The mechanism works great and does not shut unless you pull it down. The most perfect bed! I used a box spring under the mattress, which brings the height to 17 inches. When searching for a bed, I specifically wanted one with a taller headboard that would still be visible when the bed is made and could accommodate a box spring—this bed is perfect for that. The drawers are also amazing. They are quite deep, allowing plenty of storage space. I was also looking for a true beige color, and most beds I came across that were labeled “beige” were actually more cream-toned. This one is a genuine beige, exactly what I was looking for. We purchased 3 white ones over 2 years ago for our second home and all have held up great. They are a true white. Husband assembled all 3 himself easily. 2 Full sizes: 1 trundle and the other 1 with 2 draws storage. Also a Queen with 2 draw storage. Other side of queen is open space. All draws slide easily and hold a lot with high sides. They and the trundle free float. Have used trundle a few times. Can purchase additional draws for other side of Queen if desired. This bed is wonderful! Very sturdy - quality materials with an extra bag of screws. I appreciate the Velcro option with the slats for stability. The color is being and seems like it will be easy to spot clean. Took a couple of hours to put together with two people.
