They are kind of ‘rugged’ — I was hoping for a little more elegance but really good product for the price if the look works for you. I’ve been looking for some type of natural wood blinds for a while. Most are priced too high for my project. These are sturdy, the raise/lower mechanism works great at this point and they provide good privacy — you can’t see through them which a lot of the other more affordable options do not provide.. These are in the style of a Roman shade, which is a nice concept for covering the glass panel in French Doors. They are magnetic, so easy to position up or drop down. However, instead of some type of metal or sturdy resin material, the “rod” inserts at the back of the shade are cheap plastic tubes which do not fit tightly enough or stay together very well— when inserting to the back of the curtain, the sections come apart. There are several colors to choose from, and the material is lightweight, but blocks even the strong sunlight we have in the desert.
