The fire is super hot and the flames reach a couple inches over the glass even in the wind! It comes with the blue glass beads. I added some mirror black glass purchased from Wayfair. The structure is metal and super well built but the finish is a little delicate and scratches somewhat easily. I love the extra box that holds the tank. We use it as an end table..
