This Chism Decorative Log set will be perfect in my unused fireplace which I used to place decorative birch logs in for aesthetic view. This log set is made of material that Is easily broken if hit against something; as one of the logs had come apart from its base, upon arrival; though it’s connection was a centerpiece nail. I plan to place this in my outside Firepit this Fall, with minimal fire burning pieces. Hopefully, it will hold up well in that! Terrific heater! We had an electric fireplace from another box store that the warming unit went bad in and I was unable to get any replacement parts for. The measurements of this unit were correct so I replaced the other heater with this and it has worked perfectly, it even looks better than the original! I love it! It looks like realistic logs during the day. And in the evening the glowing embers and flame effect look very realistic and amazing. I’m do agree with others that the crackling sound is not realistic so we don’t turn it on. The other thing we did was place a small metal can (altoids can) under the back side to lean it forward a little, so the flames shoot higher. That is a personal preference though.. Jennifer.
