One year ago I bought a cheaper pergola from another company; it had the nylon roof you pull back with a cord, no side screens available. The roof was flimsy and noisy whenever there was a breeze, and if you forgot to close it tight before a rain, the weight of the water was going to tear it . It actually wasn’t 10x10 as advertised, maybe 9x9, and the sun came under the east & west sides, no you were seldom shielded from the sun. So I tried Wayfair after noticing my neighbor’s, got the same one only I ordered the pulldown screens for 2 sides. It also has a louvered metal roof ( huge improvement), we love it! It is very nice and more sturdy that I thought it would be. We didn’t bolt it to the deck because we didn’t want to drill into Trex. But we did bolt it to the house which worked good. Sturdy and well made, instructions were fairly clear and with a one man assembly expect an all day project, but with 2 people who are fairly handy should be a breeze. Nice Pergola It’s solid but a little lower than I had envisioned. The front has a shallow gutter with ends open. I’m a trying to figure out how to hang a gutter. It’s very hard to drill. Turned out nice. Had this professionally installed and mounted the post in concrete blocks to give more stability. The metal pieces itself is lightweight aluminum but when connected together it’s sturdy. Only gripe are the shade connector poles. Their means of connecting could be improved because they slide off & disconnect from one another every now & then but so far holds up well with rain when shade is pulled back. I couldn’t be happier with this pergola and shutter wall system. The quality of the aluminum is excellent, everything feels solid, and once it’s anchored to concrete, the structure is extremely sturdy. I installed the pergola and fixed shutter wall myself, and while it takes time and patience, the instructions were clear and all of the parts fit together well. The shutter wall adds a lot of privacy without making the space feel closed in, and it gives the pergola a clean, modern look. The charcoal finish looks even better in person than it does in the pictures, and the louvers operate smoothly. It has completely transformed my backyard and looks like a professionally installed outdoor living space. The awning is very nice well made just installed Mother’s Day 2026 . The only issue we had the instructions were very vague not clear enough.
