Okay! SO- first time chicken owner here. We live in Maryland and are raising chicks and ducks from babies. We live in the woods and therefore have a ton of natural predators. The coop on its own is not SUPER sturdy, but not the worst quality I have seen and works well for a yard that slopes. There are some gaps, so we enclosed the top and bottom with hardware mesh stapled into the wood and secured with cement blocks just to be sure everything would be safe, and so far so good! The cover seems like it will be reasonable for the raincolder temps. Used Wayfair assembly service, which was good but it did take 3 men four hours to assemble just FYI. Overall, happy!. Anonymous. I made quite a few modifications to make this coop more useful. I used strong magnets across the top so we could reach into the run. The chicken coop is a great product, perfect for beginners and experienced chicken owners alike! The construction was straightforward and the instructions were easy to follow. It took about 4 hours to build. It would be perfect for a backyard. The run is small so I wouldn’t have more than 6-10 chickens if you’re not planning to free range. We will free range so I would be comfortable housing more in there. It is convenient height for collecting eggs and cleaning out waste. It is a very nice chicken coop. It is well made and easy to assemble. The color shown is the color of the actual product. It is very cute and looks great. It is easy to move around and I didn't have a concern that anything would be able to get in with my chickens and kill them. The reason I am giving 4 stars is that it is a very, very small coop. I moved and only had one chicken left. I wanted to take her with me because she is 11 years old and my new farm didn't have any kind of chicken coop area. I purchased this thinking it would be a great place for her live out her life. However, it is extremely small. I couldn't stand to see her in such a small area. I think it might be a great area for a couple of bunnies or if you need a place to put small chicks before you integrate them into an adult flock of chickens. I wish it was bigger because it is nicely constructed, easy to assemble and the colors worked for my farm. I will now just resell on Marketplace as I already have it all assembled and didn't want to try and repackage to send back.
