Love this arbor! The instructions were very user‑friendly, and overall the assembly was straightforward. It definitely requires two people to put together, but once you get going it comes together nicely. Where are all my poultry people at If you are anything like me youve got a house full of kids and a backyard full of chickens and ducks. The problem is is that we also have dogs. One dog doesnt care about the chickens but lets just say the other one does. Enter this kennel. It is super sturdy and very heavy duty. Be prepared to spend a day assembling this kennel! It arrived in 3 large boxes, 100lbs each but well packed and lined with wood. All of the various parts are letter coded, the best is that all of the bolts and screws are the same size for the entire structure. The materials are heavy duty, it is best to have 2 people working and holding panels to get everything lined up. My only complaint is the main doors. For some reason the hinges ARE the screws, which doesn’t seem secure or could loosentighten over time. Second is that there is a fairly large gap between the doors and the rest of the kennel where all other pieces are very tight together. I’m using this for chickens and will need to come up with a solution to fill in that gap. All in all, I think this is great quality. It came with ground stakes to prevent the wind from taking it. This is a very large run for the price, and it is sturdy, but there were some things that I wish I had been aware of. I might still have ordered it, but I was a tad disappointed. If you want a truly secure run, you will need to invest hardware cloth and sweat. On the positive side, the wire panels are sturdy, and the hardware is substantial. They are solid welded wire panels, put together with double brackets. It should do a good job of keeping out large predators. However, the gaps between panels are wider than they appear in the picture and there are large gaps to each side of the door The door is a duck-in door. It's about 3'3" tall, although quite wide. The third image shows that more clearly. The "roof" is a series of triangular trusses with cross beams, so while it is 6' at the peak, you have to watch your head. That said, it's plenty high enough for the chickens, and one can get in there to work, carefully. The roof is mostly canvas. The welded wire does not continue ANYWHERE that is under the canvas in the images. There is a big triangular opening at both ends. Quality control could have been a bit better, but pieces are well enough manufactured to be sufficient for it to function. Assembly is tedious, that's a lot of panels! What we are doing to make the run more secure is to put a 2' band of 1/2" hardware cloth up the sides, and also a 2' skirt of the same, staked and weighted down. The entire roof area will be covered with 1/2"-1" hardware cloth, and we will cut triangular panels to fill in the front and back. A great product for the price. No real directions for assembly- just a few pictures. It has to be done in a specific order, so I had to disassemble and reassemble several time to get all the accessories on correctly. It was not difficult, but a bit frustrating. As other reviewers have commented, the picture shows the squirrel baffle much lower than is actually recommended. There is no way to fit all the attachments above the baffle and have them work well. I put the birdbath ring and one hanger below the baffle (plan to put a hummingbird feeder on the lower hook) so it will work for my purposes. This is more than worth the interesting movement and great craftsmanship that most folks will likely think of when they buy it. These photos are after a summer of it being outside and it still looks incredible. The “patina” -rust in this case-has added more charm to it, without damaging any structural integrity. So expect a little of that unless you live in a dry area. I bought this because a true blue heron has invaded our koi pond and attempts to curtail this majestic bird from snacking on our fish failed, including a static model that looks identical, sans wing movement and a water spray detection that only sprayed me. Annoying. Bottom line-this has worked! I’ve witnessed several standoffs between this metal bird against the real bird. Fascinating.for sure, but metal bird won every time. At least so far The real heron is here because there is a large pondsmall lake behind our yard where it typically hunts and should hunt.
