This is such a great umbrella! It took a little while to assemble, mainly adding sand to the support bags which took 3.5 bags of playground sand. It definitely helps keep things secure but we still lower the umbrella when it gets breezy. The solar lights are such a pleasant add on. This is exactly what I needed to get rid of the big ugly base on my umbrella. The holes for the umbrella base are tapped for M8 bolts. The outer holes work for 14 bolts. The base is powder coated dark grey with some metallic flakes. This comes with 16 lag screws that are about 2” long. I didn’t use these as they wouldn’t sink far enough into the support joists.. This umbrella is fantastic and glides open and closed so easily. It was difficult to assemble though, and I had to hire a handyman. I’m usually pretty decent on my own, but this was cumbersome.
