This was even better looking than I thought it would be. It looks beautiful. However, customers should know that there is no opening for a diverter hose from a downspout. And there are no instructions for setting up other than the spigots. It seems like it is designed to just sit anywhere and gather rain, which would take forever. We installed this rain barrel today, just in time for a major storm, which gave us the perfect opportunity to see how it performed in real-world conditions. Initially, we noticed water overflowing from the top of the barrel. After some troubleshooting, we discovered that the mesh liner included with the unit was not allowing water to flow through properly. Once we removed the mesh liner, the rain barrel worked exactly as expected and handled the rainfall without issue. The barrel itself looks great and blends beautifully with the brick exterior of our home. It has a much more attractive appearance than many of the plastic rain barrels we’ve seen. Our only concern is that without the included mesh liner, we’ll need to find an alternative solution to keep insects, mosquitoes, and small animals out while still allowing water to flow freely into the barrel. It would be helpful if the manufacturer offered a more effective screening solution that doesn’t restrict water flow during heavier rain events. Since we just installed the rain barrel, we have not yet had the opportunity to test the spigot and hose connection to see how well water flows out for watering plants and gardens. If those components perform as expected, we’ll be very pleased with the overall product. Overall, we’re very happy with the appearance and functionality of the rain barrel, but the included mesh liner may need to be redesigned or improved to prevent overflow issues during heavier rain.. The rain barrel looks as nice as the pictures. The mesh to keep the bugs out does not fits snuggly snuggly and I will need to add aluminum screen. There are two round cut outs near the top at the back of the rain barrel and I assume that’s for venting air as the barrel fills as well as when water is dispensed. Or I suppose it could be for overflow There was no diagram of the rain barrel explaining all the nuances. These rain barrels are repurposed from pre-used imported food barrels. There may be slight scratching or scuffs due to previous overseas transportation. Since our rain barrels are made of High-Density Polyethylene Plastic they can be left outdoors even in the winter months so there is no need to modify your downspouts in the Spring and Fall. The exact shape of the barrels may vary due to availability but the color and size remain true. Because these barrels were originally used to transport food, there may be residual food product odor. The residual odor will dissipate after a few full barrel filling cycles. We use a PH-balanced, environmentally friendly soap when cleaning so that the water gathered can immediately be used on plants without harm. These barrels keep difficult to break down plastics from adding bulk to landfills and also contain and repurpose stormwater.

I ordered 2 sizes of rain barrels and stands to match from same company. They changed shade of color somewhere along the line so not everything matched. Manufacturer told me to keep stands or donate which was nice since then I didnt have to package up and send back. Maybe they shouldve changed color name to new color so this wont happen to others. These rainbarrels are repurposed from pre-used overseas food barrels. There may be slight scratching or scuffs due to previous overseas transportation. Since our rainbarrels are made of High Density Polyethylene Plastic they can be left outdoors even in the winter months so there is no need to modify your downspouts in the Spring and Fall. The exact shape of the barrels may vary due to availability but the color and size remain true. Because these barrels were originally used to transport food, there may be residual food product odor. The residual odor will disspiate after a few full barrel filling cycles. We use a PH balanced, environmentally friendly soap when cleaning so that the water gathered can immediately be used on plants without harm. These barrels keep difficult to break down plastics from adding bulk to landfills and also contain and repurpose stormwater.
