I absolutely adore the look of copper, so when I was shopping for a chiminea and stumbled on this one, I had to have it. This was one of my first purchases from Wayfair, and I was expecting something to be wrong with something so big and heavy. I was pleasantly surprised that, after the easy assembly, there was only a very small, unnoticeable scrape on the lid. I made sure to read up on "seasoning" the chiminea before using it more extensively. Again, I was surprised that the chiminea fired up as expected with no issues. I think the only small issue I had was some of the paper kindling I used liked to float up through the top opening - I may add some mesh to prevent possible floating embers from escaping. I've had this fire pit for several years now. I will say, it's held up well for all the abuse I've given it! Some very big, hot fires. I use it for yard/tree debris, and the occasional, sit around the fire with a glass or two of wine. It's been left out in the rain and snow and none the worse for it.
