Starting with purchase and installation: with tile, several other materials are required, and a professional must complete the 3-day installation. Alternatively, Utile walls do not require the purchase of other materials except silicone, and a few tools if not already in hand. They are fixed directly on the studs in 1 day and do not require hiring an expert! As for the long run, tile is a sturdy material; however, grout requires regular care and maintenance to keep its look and integrity long term. Utile walls, on the other hand, offer smooth textures or have realistic and carefree faux grout lines that will not crack!

This is a great shower. One thing - please note that the interior length is around 46.5", *not* 45.5" as shown above. After prep, the installation took just an hour or so. The Moen digital shower controller is a nice upgrade. We needed a controller on the opposite side of the shower from the shower head, so the water could be turned on without entering the shower.
