The spade surface measures 2.625 inches by 3.25 inches, 8.75 inches in overall length. The narrow edge makes it perfect for serving hard ice cream. Hefty-yet-comfortable handles provide a solid grip and plenty of control. Made from chrome-plated die-cast zinc alloy. Contains no heat-producing chemicals and is dishwasher safe. It's really well designed, with a comfortable big handle, to easily scoop out hard-frozen ice cream. My only concern was the description on the website indicated that it was made of stainless steel and was not dishwasher safe. But my concern was put to rest when I read the card that was attached to the scoop, which indicated that it was actually made of a chrome plated alloy and WAS dishwasher safe.. James.
