It's really well designed, with a comfortable big handle, to easily scoop out hard-frozen ice cream. My only concern was the description on the website indicated that it was made of stainless steel and was not dishwasher safe. But my concern was put to rest when I read the card that was attached to the scoop, which indicated that it was actually made of a chrome plated alloy and WAS dishwasher safe.. James. Canisters are made of premium 18/10 Stainless Steel that is ideal for food storage. BPA, paint, and phthalate-f ee. The tempered glass cover is heat and shatter-resistant. Wide rim with silicone gasket to seal the canister. Can be used for storing Coffee, tea, sugar, flour, and other dry foods. Not recommended for liquids. Stainless Steel canisters are dishwasher safe, hand wash and dry immediately recommended to keep shine. The lid with seal is not dishwasher safe as the silicone gasket may deform with heat.
