Two offset layers of petals simultaneously shield the light source while allowing reflected light to wash the inside petals, creating a dramatic ambient luminaire. Though the recycled glass discs that make up the shade of the Etude chandelier look uniform at first glance, the pieces actually grow larger as they flow from the top and bottom toward the middle. They are attached to the wrought frame with such fine wire, that they seem to float within it. The circlets and frame are finished in a satin black; the darkness creates a contrast to the recycled glass and adds depth to the design.
