My husband LOVES watching the birds in the backyard. I thought he would enjoy this bird feeder when the weather is rough and he cannot sit outside. He decided our bedroom window is where he wanted it and proceeded to install. It had a gap on the top that he somehow fixed. I think some cuts were involved. When a squirrel climbs onto the feeder, its weight automatically forces the shroud down, closing access to the suet cakes. Squirrels and large birds are foiled but not harmed in any way.

This bird feeder can easily hold approx 2 cups of feed. Can be hung from a tree limb or hook. This is a good feeder for small birds in a restricted area. Will naturally darken with age.
