For exterior they would need to be installed in damp location such as a covered porch, soffit, etc.. A place where the fixtures would not receive direct saturation.

Honestly I haven’t had the chance to install this yet but I have several friends that have used these before and it didn’t seem to be difficult. The swivel (gimbal) is ingenious and, as I am installing them on a vaulted ceiling, I should be able to have them point back towards the outside walls instead of towards the middle of the room as non-swiveling pots would have done.. These are great lights. The adjustable feature for color temperature works very well, and the lights themselves seem to be of good quality. I love this light. It recesses nicely into the ceiling, dims well without any flickering. Lighting temperature is adjustable, however the fixture must be removed to change. Fantastic hi-hat ceiling lights. Four came in one box. For the installation I did need an electrician as it needed to be hard-wired.
