I have two 12 pound 1-year old cats, and I bought this thinking one would sleep on top and one would sleep in the basket. Of course they tussle over who gets the top and neither uses the basket at all. Only once I've seen them sleeping on the top together, so it will fit both. I took away one star because the tree is not as sturdy as I hoped. It's well made and was easy to assemble, but it sways a bit since everything is balanced on the single tree trunk, despite tightening as much as we could. I put a small plastic bin full of landscape rocks on the base to counterbalance so it doesn't sway too far or tip over when a cat leaps onto it. The mid range height is perfect for placement behind our sofa, so it doesn't block the view of the TV from the kitchen. The top level is very soft and both cats love to stretch out and sleep there. I did not attach the large fluffy ball, because it contains a rather annoying rattle. Overall this is nice, but definitely for 1-2 cats that aren't too big. I think the listing said 3 cats up to 22 pounds each, but that doesn't seem realistic in my opinion. It's a good looking cat tree that blends into the decor better than some others.. Katie. My cats really like this cat tower and took to it immediately after assembly. Since the levels are spread out, it's easier to navigate than the tall straight-up tower we have. In fact, we got this shorter tower to put next to the taller tower, so they can more readily use it too. My 14lb male doesn't fit on the platforms as well as my 8lb female, but he uses them anyway. Both cats like to go in the hide towards the bottom and fit in there just fine. They play with the feathers and scratch on the sisal posts but haven't bothered with the burlap ramp at the bottom. My cats are too big for the ramp so I'll probably remove it, but it would work well for kittens. Assembly was relatively easy (all pieces and hardware included), and the platforms can be rotated to whatever direction you like best. Super easy to put together, directions are extremely easy to understand. For the price, this is a nice cat tree. It’s not overly heavy, so there’s a little wobble when my cat jumps up. However, I don’t feel in any way that it would tip! Well Packaged! Material is soft. Black sisal rope doesn’t seem to be able to fray like traditional sisal rope. We’ll see how long it takes for the cats to tear it up. Condo walls are ribbed and let a little light through, which is nice. Tower feels solid, well built. Screw in connections are solid as well. Tightening these screws down as much as possible (by hand), helps to ensure nothing wiggles. Retightened everything once it was fully assembled, just to be sure it’s sturdy. Our cat loves to throw herself at off of towers with such ferocity, they have to be stable. This one is definitely that. Pushing screws through the fabric holes 1st, made it a little bit easier to make the connections. We didn’t assemble the top bed, as this would have put our curious kitty a bit too close to her nemesis… The ceiling fan. It’s about 5 feet tall without the top bed. This is a quality made cat scratcher, which my cat only uses as a perch. I discovered that she does not use scratching posts (she uses the area rugs for her scratching needs). But I need to mention that the base shouldve been made larger, as it almost toppled over the first time my small cat jumped up on the perch, and it spooked her. You could maybe secure it to a wall for stability, although it doesnt come with any hardware to do that with. Or put a heavy object in the middle of the base to make it more secure. My cat has since learned to jump on the perch from the bed, which is a little bit higher than the perch. Bottom line is, unless you can make it more stable, I wouldnt recommend this scratcher if your cat is large and a zealous scratcher, or older and has trouble jumping up (thus, the danger of pulling it over on itself, like mine almost did).
