An organic and instinctual painter, Artist Sarah Stockstill’s process relies on a foundation of several layers of texture that is applied and sanded back to get a smooth surface that lets her most immediate marks shine on the surface. Responding to color and forms, she follows as led. Sometimes into a deep horizon with traces of landscape, an organic jungle of pattern, a human figure, and every now and then an animal with an ethereal mystique. Sometimes the layering is broad, covering the entire canvas, and sometimes it is minute, focusing and embellishing a possible overlooked element of the painting which in turn becomes the center of interest. Most layers are created and taken away, leaving small traces whose threads become more important for doing so.

Raised in Los Angeles, California, D’Alessandro was the youngest of three brothers. When art competition was a form of play for the brothers, it later grew into his obsession. D’Alessandro attended the Art Institute of California where he explored mixing mediums as well as digital. He also attended Illustration, Sculpting, and Fine Art workshops in Fullerton Ca. After spending long periods studying different techniques, D’Alessandro's art became increasingly influenced by artists from the early 1900s. During D’Alessandro’s studies, he painted many different themes. He painted with restless intensity, often painting from morning until night. D’Alessandro was able to indulge his earliest artistic preferences for people, nature, architecture, and landscapes in his illustration and personal pieces. He also painted family, friends, and gardens. He has done commissioned work for a variety of clients in music, publishing, and editorial. His work has been exhibited in numerous private and public collections.

I See Home 1 is an accomplished abstract work on canvas that calls to mind the work of the influential American abstract expressionist Robert Rauschenberg. She enjoys movies, yoga, travel, reading, and scuba diving. She studied Fine Arts in college. She was especially interested in Printmaking and liked silkscreen and etching because of the way they combined hand painting and digital looks. “Art is a part of my life and cannot live without it. There is no right or wrong about art. It has the freedom to express whatever you feel. I paint what I see, not what it is supposed to look like.” She works in mixed media and combines both digital and hand-painted works to create her unexpected looks.
