I was in search of a free standing tub that had completely straight/square sides versus the many that are sold with curves and angles. I needed this to fit in a corner without leaving spaces between the tub and wall that would either trap water or dust. This was the the one squared tub that I found within my price range, with others being 2-3 times as much for some reason, so I bought it in the only version available at the time (glossy gray). It's here now, I've opened the box to take a look and it is really beautiful and substantial while also being a foot shorter in length than the alcove tub it's replacing (space that I was eager to gain in a small bathroom). I'm really excited to get it installed and will be putting in a fixed glass panel on the non-wall end and a pivoting glass panel door along the exposed side since it will get the most use as a shower. I love the modern look and floating style. The instructions were subpar, omitting written language in favor of images, arrows, and numbers on the cabinet base instructions. I’m handy with tools and was able to modify a few things to make it work. Firstly, pieces 4-8 have an end with larger holes. These holes go against pieces 1 and 2. I wish the instructions had said that! Second, the hangers did not work in the ore-drilled hole location. I had to move them toward the front of the cabinet and loosen the hanger before screwing them to the cabinet. That was the only way to get the cabinet pulled in close to the wall. Third, I wanted the unit mounted to studs so I added a couple holes in the top strap where the studs were. I hate drywall anchors, especially the cheap ones included in the kit. If you’re going to use drywall anchors, you’re better off using the screw-in type or toggles. Lastly, FYI the drain pipe kit that comes with the sink is 1-1/4” flexible pipe.. Hallie. Raleigh, NC. Bathroom remodel and just had to pick this free standing tub for a small space! It has one straight side to push against the wall and the 2 sides taper in to make it easy to clean the sides of the trunk and not behind it! Since it's flat against the wall ! And you don't need that free standing water faucet screwed to the floor collecting dust! With this new flat sided tub, you can mount your bath fixtures in the wall in the middle of the tube instead of one end. You see...by mounting fixture in the middle you can relax up against both ends and and not hit your head on the fixtures. Lol and you can also make it a 2 person tub??!! Oh my!!! this is really great quality shower doors and exactly what we needed. I really liked that we could trim them to the size we needed since we don't seem to have the standard size opening.
