I am not going to lie. I was leery, but my expectations were exceeded just on the packaging alone! Took me about an hour to put together, instructions were easy-ish to follow. The operation is smooth, very quiet when moving up/down. The wiring threw me off a bit, as the light controller is in the box with the desk and everything else is in the box with the frame. I am very pleased, it feels sturdy. Caution, the box with the frame is much heavier than expected, but you can tell quality went into the making. Didn't have to program the motors or calibrate them. The cup holder is a nice touch for sure! I do wish it came with a PC tower holder, but there was room on top for the desktop. I am a developer, not a gamer, but it's perfect for my setup! The price is higher than many of the others but I chose this one, because the top is a solid piece and not split like a majority of the others. We LOVE this thing! Best upgrade ever. We purchased a sufficiently rated countdown timer switch with intervals that seemed appropriate for a bathroom heater (Leviton DT102 15-30-1h-2h) and have been enjoying this heated mirror so much. A brief ON will defog the mirror, while 15 minutes ON (switching on a bit before getting into the shower) is long enough for it to heat up fully and make a huge difference when stepping OUT of the shower. 30mins is great for getting ready on a very cold morning. The mirror optics seem very clear and high quality. We did not do the installation ourselves, as it was put in during a whole house rewire the electricians opted to put in a recessed outlet box behind the mirror and just plug it in there, rather than hard wiring it. This will preserve flexibility going forward. Because it was going in a very particular place, and we have plaster rather than drywall, they opted to install cross pieces of plywood secured to the wall, and mounted the mirror to the wood strips. It’s very secure-feeling. My one negative point is the thing gets so warm that it’s not comfortable to lean my face close (bad eyesight) for putting on make-up. This is something that might require finessing your timing if it was your only mirror, or setting up a small well-lit mirror in another location. I’ve gotten prices from $1200-$1400 to replace the door after we remodeled the shower. Price of this door was really great. I have to tell you the instructions are just a little bit sketchy, but you can figure them out. The quality of the door and its hardware is really great. We have just installed new porcelain tiles in the shower. Had we had just about any other material it would’ve been pretty easy.
