I ordered this pot to replace one I had for ages. I liked the nice clean look of this. It arrived within days and I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the material, the balance of weight when handled. the slotted steam opening, and the incremental measurements inside the pot. The heat dispersed evenly around the bottom when cooking and I different feel there were hot spots. All in all I think this is a well made very easily handled piece of cookware. I purchased this item (Viking 4QT Pot) for $120 (before tax and shipping). It was on sale, and I think I got a great deal. It's exactly the right size, and the nonstick coating is fantastic. It heats up evenly and food sticks less to it than my other stainless steel pans so I prefer to use it over those. The picture is after four rounds of smaller pancakes made in the pan with only one application of olive oil, whereas my other pans I had to keep adding oil or butter or it’s definitely going to stick. The handle is attached only on the outside and after having this option, I don’t know why all pans don’t do this. Crafted for longevity, the pot is made of thick 0.7mm aluminum and covered with high-quality enamel. Don't heat an empty stock pot, and do not cool it abruptly so that the enamel does not crack or change color, and the pot will serve you for many years.
