May also be mounted in a ventilating position and keep the door secure.

Works really well. We have used them all over the house over the years. One caveat: it may happen that the spring gets misaligned, which makes it hard to close the lock without manually adjusting the spring. This patio lock is made well. I wish I could install it, but my new apartment complex will not allow me to drill into the frame. I will be giving this to my sister to use on her patio door. I will say it is very well made. The locking peg is sturdy and long, so it will secure the door when I stalled.
