The instructions were excellent, it took me about 4 hours to put it together because I go slowly and carefully and of course only used a screwdriver. The drawers in the middle don't glide very well. The middle one at the bottom needs to be pushed back hard to close which is weird because everything was assembled meticulously. I might stick some silicone bumper pads there for the noise. Nailing the backing was a little useless since it didn’t want to attach to the frame (it kind of balloons out just a bit, which doesn’t affect anything I believe, the dresser is against the wall). The drawers are small so in the future I will buy a dresser with bigger drawers, maybe a 6-drawer dresser. Was tempted to give this 3 stars, but it’s probably closer to 3.5 so I’ll round up. Overall, I’m very happy with how this dresser looks and the size. It was pretty hard finding something that we liked but also had round corners to make it safe for our 14 month old. There is a lot I wish was different about this dresser though. For one, it took my husband about 4-5hrs to build because it had so many steps and parts (and he is normally good at putting these things together). Second, for how large each drawer looks on the outside, it’s actually much smaller in width and height so you loose a lot more storage than you think (see photos). Lastly, I was expecting soft close drawers because they’re so standard these days. It’s not a smooth close and is actually quite stiff the close at the very end for a full shut. I recently purchased the Donati 9-Drawer Dresser and wanted to share my experience for anyone considering it. First, be prepared—this is definitely a project if you’re assembling it on your own. I started putting it together around 7 PM, worked until about 2 AM, then picked it back up the next day around 1 PM and finished around 6 PM. It’s time-consuming and can feel a bit challenging at times, but I actually enjoyed the process and found it rewarding to see it come together. There were a few minor issues with some of the wood panels having small chips, but nothing too noticeable once everything was assembled. Overall, the dresser is very sturdy and feels well-made. The finished look is absolutely beautiful and makes the effort worth it. If you’re patient and don’t mind spending the time assembling it, I would definitely recommend it.
