It's important to note that with this design, the center square goes above the ceiling grid vs. sitting below it, so this is perfect for my application as the basement in my home is quite low in some areas where there is duct work, allowing me to optimize head space versus other designs that droop below the ceiling grid. It works entirely below the surface, won’t change the look or color of the substrate, and won’t leave a surface film. By reducing surface water absorption, cracking, spalling, pitting, mold, mildew, algae, staining, and other damage and deterioration caused by surface water absorption will also be reduced.

I’ve got a fairly long and steep concrete driveway that is starting to show its age a little bit. There has been some minor cracking from the freeze-thaw cycle each winter. I decided to try the Armour SX5000 water-based sealant to see if it would improve the situation. I have delayed writing this review for a bit as I wanted to driveway to go through at least one winter season. I first pressure washed the entire driveway surface which is pretty time consuming. I then applied the Armour sealant with a manual pump sprayer. This part went fairly quickly. The trick is to get the sealant covering the driveway well, but not so much as to create puddles that aren’t absorbed. I made sure there was no rain in the forecast for a couple of days. Initially, I did half of the driveway first and the first day that it rained the difference on the two sides was very noticeable. Water on the coated side was beading and running off and on the other side it was being absorbed into the concrete. Absolutely stunning! Painted the plane styrofoam tiles with acrylic metallic paint, then antique with black acrylic paint. Used an instant grab glue to put tiles up. Simple, easy process. I have been looking at these ceiling panels for awhile, thinking I might be able to use them as decorative molding on the hall walls in our new-to-us home, and I finally ordered them. While they are really nice and a perfect size in my thinking, my hubby pointed out that he would not be able to customize the molding for end pieces on shorter length walls. He also mentioned that, while these panels are perfectly smooth, our walls have some texture, so the botton half of the wall would not all be the same texture. I had not really considered those things! These panels are really very well-made, sturdy without being heavy, and will look great when used on a ceiling as they are intended. In remodeling an 81 year old house on my own, I needed something light for the ceilings that I could manage myself.
