It took 43 minutes to assemble. Its lightweight but sturdy. It looks like solid wood and very good quality. I appreciate how they packaged the hardware needed. You will need a screwdriver. The only downside for me was the last step of screwing in part number 8 would be easier if you apply it before putting on the top shelf. I got this for a WFH office setup to put books/etc inside and a small TV on top. It fits a maximum of a 32 inch TV along the top. This is a really beautiful and sturdy piece of furniture. Mine did come with a crack on the top edge. But it did not affect the structural integrity and so I reported it to the manufacturer. They were great to work with and we came to an agreement that I feel is fair to all. This does come with a marker too in case you scratch something while assembling and so I used that on the crack and though I know it is there, I doubt any guests would ever notice it now. It is heavy so make sure you don’t try and move it by yourself. About 100 pounds.
