Great value and perfect ice. I removed my dishwasher and put in the ice machine. I do plan to conect it directly to the water line however i couldnt wait to start making ice. This ice maker is really fast and relatively quiet. It is compact enough to fit under my kitchen cabinets. The reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because the basin where the ice is kept is not a freezer that keeps the ice frozen. It’s an ambient tray with holes in it so that as the ice melts, it drips back into the water reservoir from which the unit draws water to make the ice.
