This cat tower is awesome. I was looking forward to putting this together but the husband beat me to it. It only took him a hours. This included a couple redos because, as others mentioned, the picture instructions are not straight forward. He also used better tools than the wrench it comes with. This cat tree is a real bargain for the size. I have a 10lb cat, and he fits purrfectly in the hanging baskets. He enjoys the caves and the scratching posts. My 6 cats love this! I wanted a cat tree that could be as tall as the ceiling. The only reason I took a star off is because bracing it to the ceiling with pressure is a challenge. I wish the pieces that brace against the ceiling were not made of a soft plush material. I keep tightening it and I have found something abrasive to place between the top piece and the ceiling to give it more grip. Overall, this floor to ceiling cat tree is a nice addition to my space which gives my girl an advantage to be high when she is curious to see what i'm doing; this is her main purpose for using the tree. She is a soon to be, fifteen year old, healthy cat that is agile enough to jump to and from the second tear and make her way with ease to the top . I believe this is worth mentioning since not all senior or geriatric cats will be able to scale each level going up depending on her or his health; such as if your cat has arthritis. Beside her using it daily as an advantage point to see what i'm doing she also uses it each day as a scratcher. Since each level conveniently comes with sisel columns she has been able to claw and stretch which assists in saving one side of my couch from additional damage. Her paws have gotten stuck a couple of times but she manages to unhinge them. I wouldnt suggest pulling the stockings that go over the top adjustment stilt to far down since my senior has gotten her claws stuck in them when i had them as low as they can go. She was able to, with extra effort, unhinge her claws when this happened but it can still be a safety issue if the stocking covers aren't adjusted correctly. There are two other mentions that were not ideal. The first is more of a personality and i'm sure age related preference which is that my cat does not use the two “upholstered beds" (pockets) since i believe she is weary they lack solid underneath support. She avoids getting in them reducing the platforms used to eight. The second issue is structural. This cat tree is advertised to adjust from 87.7 inches to 114 inches. However, there are a few inches, which i believe are from 102-105 inches where it can be very tedious to tighten from ceiling to floor. My floor to ceiling is within this inch range so i had to get creative by figuring out how to adjust the tree so that it has a tight fit. I had to screw the rod almost all the way in to the last sisel column then place the flat tightening ceiling disk on it which worked well. Even with that tedious issue i was able to ensure the tree is secure and can readjust where i place the cat tree at any time. I've now had the tree for about a month and im happy with this purchase. It seems to be well liked by its user and main critic, my beautiful senior girl cat. Without her approval the purchase would have been pointless. This is a nice, tall cat tree with a lot of different places for cats to climb, scratch, and lounge. At over 70 inches tall, it gives cats a great vertical space to explore. The many perches make it easy for them to move up and down the tower. My cat is a large, 16-pound boy with a pretty big frame, so I was initially concerned that the enclosed condos might be too small for him. But he was able to get into both of them comfortably and clearly enjoys having the cozy hideaways. The openings looked small at first glance, but they work fine even for a bigger cat. The structure feels sturdy and stable once assembled, and the sisal-covered posts and ramp give plenty of scratching surfaces. The gray covering is more like a soft blanket than carpet and looks nice in the room. My box didn’t come with printed assembly instructions. I was able to pull up the product photo online and use that as a guide, and the pieces were straightforward enough that it wasn’t difficult to figure out. This is excellent, nice looking and very solid. As other reviews have noted, it does require a power drill to secure the basket rims. Also, getting the top "tension rod" component assembled and in place was a bit tricky and required a ladder for 8-foot ceilings, but I was able to get it in place by myself, it looks great, and it's extremely sturdy. My cats (8-12 lbs) love it and I was happy I didn't have to drill into my walls or ceiling. My two kitties love their new space! We have two 9 months old kitties that we rescued when they were 3 12 weeks old. They are indoor cats but we wanted to give them a safe sanctuary when are not home. I put the structure together myself and it probably would have gone quicker if I had help but I took my time and the instructions were easy enough to follow. The wood is strong enough for indoor but I don’t think it would last long outside in the elements. I didn’t use the roofing material that came with it since I have it inside the house. This all wood cat tree was very easy to assemble in 10 minutes. No tools needed. Just screw in the threaded pole and 2 of beds tight. Plus vacuum it and you are done. My cat jumped right into the nice size 15” wide bed there. Its plenty sturdy for my 2 - 12 lb. cats. And has a nice firm 24” x 20” sq. wood base . The reason i gave it 4 stars because IT IS NOT CHOCOLATE BROWN as pictured which is what I wanted. It is a med beige tan, see photo. Disappointing but I am keeping it and my two cats love it. I thought it was nearly perfect in the design but I think one of the attributes is not ideal. The hammock in the middle is kinda low to the platform below it, making it kinda difficult for the cat the get from the platform to the left of the hammock to the next one, slightly higher on the right. I wish the hammock was a board or higher up. Other than that, it’s really good. My friend and me built it in under an hour. I got it because it’s just about 18” below the tops of my kitchen cabinets. So she can climb the tower then traverse the cabinet tops. I have been thinking about removing the hammock and replacing it with a board. We shall see.
