Super easy to put together, great weight distribution and sturdy. The wood is particle board w artificial wood veneer. There is a 2” lip at the front, which is perfect for attaching a bench pin. No power tools needed for assembly, but you will need a Philip’s screwdriver. Feet are adjustable, it also comes with locking caster wheels. So far so good! Wayfair always delivers my items in a timely fashion. My husband wanted this for our garage and he is assembling it now. The box arrived with some damage and thus the front "door" to the bench has a ding in it. It appears to be pretty solid and heavy though. The instructions to assemble are relatively clear, and though it's a time consuming process to put this together, it is not too hard. These Hevea butcher block countertops were just what I wanted for my new office. They were well packaged and arrived without damage. A few coats of matte poly were easy to apply. Nice smooth edges too so no additional sanding needed. They were less than half the cost of what I could get through my local big box DIY store.
