Now that the fall has arrived birds are making frequent visit to bathe and the squirrels think it's there public drinking fountain. Works excellent! Built it with a solar pump kit (SKU: W120104564 sold by Wayfair) and fountain runs 24/7 and only turns off when water gets low and the pump safety valve turns it off so it doesn’t burn out the motor. When screwing the fountain pieces together let the pieces find their groove on the threads so the fountain stays level and is not lopsided once all together. If converting to solar you will need to pop out the rubber gasket that is in the middle of the bottom tier of the fountain. Split the rubber gasket at the seam and remove the electrical cord for the included pump and replace it with the cord for the solar pump. Use GE 100% Silicone sealant to fill any gaps/ spaces in the center of rubber gasket/ plug, reseal the seam with silicone and spread silicone around the outer edge of the plug/ gasket and put it back in the base, let set for 24 hours before adding water. Beautiful design. The first shipment arrived broken, and the manufacturer promptly sent out a replacement. It's difficult to fit the pump in, and you're going to need to clean it out regularly (it clogs) if you have it outside. Also not the greatest water pressure (minimal trickle) but my husband fixed that by putting a piece of rubber cork in the spout to divide/increase the flow. Still, worth it!. Melissa. We adore this fountain. It came very well packaged and was in perfect condition when it arrived. We have it near a busy sidewalk and our bird feeders. We intentionally ordered a fountain that was low enough for dogs to be able to drink from it as well as our feathered friends. The birds adore it, and it has definitely increased the amount of birds we receive at the feeders. We hired a professional electrician to install it, and he said it was simple to do. We top it off every 5-6 days. I would say that the only negative is that the filter needs to be cleaned out more than we expected, about every 3-4 weeks to keep it operating at its best, but that is very quick and easy to do..
