This umbrella is amazing for the price! It is huge!!!! It has such good coverage! It took us 15 minutes to build and was very simple. The methodology is that you put two big sandbags on the bottom so it is sturdy and then they have a fabric that you cover the base with so you don’t see the bags which make this really flawless and beautiful. My only issue with this is that the color of the umbrella fabric is much darker than it showed in the picture. Besides for that I love this and I can’t wait to utilize this in my backyard!!. Ariella. We have two purple leaf umbrellas on different patios. They have worked so well for us that we have recommended them to neighbors as well. It’s been a few years since we bought them and they still work great. We fill the bases with water each spring and empty them in the fall. The fabric has held up well. The 12 ft umbrella is exactly what we needed for our pool area to provide some shade. Assembly took about an hour to put it all together. I love that it came with a base, but note that you need a lot of sand to fill the four sandbags that are inside of the base. I got this 15 ft patio umbrella from Wayfair because I needed serious shade for my backyard, and honestly, it does exactly what I needed it to do. The size is impressive. It covers a large area really well, especially over a patio table, chairs, and part of the surrounding yard. In Florida sun, that matters. This is not a tiny decorative umbrella pretending to help. It actually creates a usable shaded space. The umbrella itself looks really nice once it is up. The neutral color works well with my yard and patio setup, and it has a clean, simple look without feeling cheap or flimsy. I also like the double-sided design because it gives much better coverage than a standard round patio umbrella. The crank handle makes opening and closing it pretty straightforward once everything is assembled and standing. That said, this thing is heavy. Very heavy. That is good in the sense that it feels sturdy, but you should absolutely expect some effort when setting it up. I was able to get it together, but getting it upright was not exactly a delicate one-person activity. I would strongly recommend having two people, especially when lifting the umbrella into place and getting it stabilized. This is not something you casually pop up while holding an iced coffee in the other hand unless you are secretly training for a patio furniture strongman competition. The base is also important. Because the umbrella is so wide, you really need to make sure it is properly weighted and positioned, especially if you live somewhere windy or stormy. I would not leave it open during bad weather. Overall, I am happy with this umbrella. It gives a ton of shade, looks good in the yard, and feels sturdy once it is set up. Arlmont&Co is another name for Purple Leaf so when you receive the umbrella and it says Purple Leaf on the box and umbrella, don't think you received the wrong umbrella. Packed ok. Make sure to take out all foam packing material within the umbrella before opening up the umbrella once assembled to a base. I also purchase the Baird Metal in ground base as I did not want a huge base taking up space on my patio. This worked perfectly for me. After 300 lbs of concrete and 150 lbs of compacted soil the base is nuclear proof. The umbrella material is acceptable to me for the price. It isnt sunbrella material, that would cost a bit more and maybe I purchase one with that in the future, since the base supports about 25 different models of umbrella. One of the metal connecting rods was a little bent but nothing to compromise its integrity. I have a pretty windy back yard and this umbrella has withstood the wind thus far. It comes with a cover which is nice to use so the umbrella doesnt fade as fast if not in use. The tilt transition handle is a smooth operation and the 360 rotation works well also.
