One year ago I bought a cheaper pergola from another company; it had the nylon roof you pull back with a cord, no side screens available. The roof was flimsy and noisy whenever there was a breeze, and if you forgot to close it tight before a rain, the weight of the water was going to tear it . It actually wasn’t 10x10 as advertised, maybe 9x9, and the sun came under the east & west sides, no you were seldom shielded from the sun. So I tried Wayfair after noticing my neighbor’s, got the same one only I ordered the pulldown screens for 2 sides. It also has a louvered metal roof ( huge improvement), we love it! Two boxes came, both damaged on one end and parts had actually made it out of one box, in the end some minor scrapes and dents from shipping and the 4 solar lights were missing. I purchased a 10 foot and an 8‘ x 10 pergola. We put them side-by-side and we have created a beautiful area which will be a setting area and a hot tub area. The pergola arrived in good condition. The parts and hardware were labeled well and easy to sort. The instructions were lacking a bit with zero written instructions, only diagrams that occasionally missed the mark. It's sturdy and took 3 adults 3 1/2 hours to assemble, partly because it was a hot day. You'll need a ladder to complete assembly, but everything fits together well. We like the adjustable canvas that allows us to adjust for the changes of the sun throughout the day. It's a great purchase for the price-point. I highly recommend this simple, functional, piece.. It is very nice and more sturdy that I thought it would be. We didn’t bolt it to the deck because we didn’t want to drill into Trex. But we did bolt it to the house which worked good. The instructions are a little confusing in some parts because the pictures are tiny. And after I sliced my finger pretty good on the metal roof, I understood why they give you gloves. Razor sharp.
