The awning is made from high quality material and it provides a large amount of shade and you can feel the difference in temperature when it is open. The change in temperature was about 10 degrees less heat when we had it open and had some shade.The cool feeling was immediately and it provides our bedroom with additional shade and fresh cool temperature. We had it professionally installed but very easy to assemble. The awning and hardware is all included but very heavy. There was 2 screws that were defective but he adjusted them to work well. The crank is easy and smooth to operate. If you’d like you can remove the crank for any safety reasons. The awning looks absolutely beautiful on our home and adds so much more character and peace. Its manual operation includes a pre-installed gear (standard left-side crank) and a 5 ft long crank handle/rocker arm to extend and retract the awning manually. The framework is made out of beautiful commercial-grade steel and aluminum that is powder-coated for protection and rust resistance. The awnings' lateral arms are multi-chambered with dual stainless steel cables. The mounting brackets are powder-coated aluminum and the hardware is stainless steel, providing additional support to the durable frame. The awning fabric cover and valance are woven out of standard grade 100% acrylic fabric and have resistant coatings to help (1) maintain its rich color while being exposed to harsh UV rays, (2) prevent mildew and soil buildup, and (3) maintain a water-resistant barrier allow for rain to roll off of the awning and not soak through the fabric.
