The change in temperature was about 10 degrees less heat when we had it open and had some shade.The cool feeling was immediately and it provides our bedroom with additional shade and fresh cool temperature. We had it professionally installed but very easy to assemble. The awning and hardware is all included but very heavy. There was 2 screws that were defective but he adjusted them to work well. The crank is easy and smooth to operate. If you’d like you can remove the crank for any safety reasons. The awning looks absolutely beautiful on our home and adds so much more character and peace.
