Package arrived fast, but the box was completely damaged. All the hardware was scattered inside of the box. Instructions are included which made it easy to assemble. Love this! Debated about the purchase for a while, but finally went for it, and my cats are in love. Its sturdy and assembly instructions are straight forward. Plenty of room for both of my large cats (about 12-14 lbs each). I added some finer screening around it to keep bugs out (just stapled it to the frame) and created a wood frame that fits inside my window so it can be secured without attaching it to the exterior of my house. It’s nice. Quality is good not the greatest some parts came dented (wood and cage material) but overall good quality. Sooooo many screws to put together so get your drill ready took three people for us to build but definitely minimum is two. We reinforced the platforms with extra screws and few other areas. My two kitties love their new space! We have two 9 months old kitties that we rescued when they were 3 12 weeks old. They are indoor cats but we wanted to give them a safe sanctuary when are not home. I put the structure together myself and it probably would have gone quicker if I had help but I took my time and the instructions were easy enough to follow. The wood is strong enough for indoor but I don’t think it would last long outside in the elements. I didn’t use the roofing material that came with it since I have it inside the house. This durable outdoor cat house features SF-grade spruce wood construction and waterproof plastic shingle roofing for weather resistance. I’ve been looking for one with kind of measurements and with some adjustments to the structure (for our needs and wants) this has been great. The instructions were pictures which I thought were a challenge, and a few pieces were cracked.. I used glue and packing tape for repair. But not with removing a star. I skipped the braces ( first steps so I could put it together in the house ) when my husband and I could assemble this outdoors I did end up replacing some of the upper parts with the same wire as the bottom. I purchased at tractor supply then replaced the two doors with just wire ( a good stapler is needed.) The big door at the bottom I added an extra lock so it gives me the access needed for “just in case” my cats would run in if I shake the treat jar. I got two pieces of strapping for the top to support the top by the roof and one for the center just for additional support. I am able to use power tools but I didn’t want to come up with the big design so honestly this is great! This is hands down the best purchase I’ve made for my cat. He absolutely loves it and spends most of his day inside. Before, he would constantly wander around looking for places to claim as his territory, which often led to random peeing around the house. Since moving into this cat villa, that behavior has completely stopped. It gives him a space that truly feels like his own. There are multiple levels to explore, a cozy sleeping area, scratching post, food shelf, and enough room to move around without feeling confined. He seems much more relaxed and secure, and honestly doesn’t even want to come out most of the time. The build quality is excellent, and everything feels sturdy and thoughtfully designed. Smaller than what I thought it was. I have four cats not sure if all four will fit in it. Little flimsier than what I thought it was. The nice feature about it is the brackets that the shelves that they can sit on. It looks nice and is perfect for what I need! But the screws for the box need to be longer. I had two come out within minutes of putting them in. I wanted a catio, but I'm just not in the position to do it right now. My 2 fur babies lay on a bench in front of the picture window all the time, so in attempt to give them an upgrade I took a chance on these. Of course I got 2 because they don't share exceptionally well. The first day they showed no interest in actually getting in but then it became a clear favorite spot to be, practically abandoning the bench. They seem to have a "new" smell when first unpacked, but it went away quickly. I do recommend having a helper (other than your inspector cat) to assemble, especially if using a manual screwdriver. Love every furry friend as we can. Bought this for my sphynx cat who can’t stay outside for long periods of time but I want to let him get some fresh air! Having the solid weatherproof roof helps block any sunlight and keeps him shaded. The size and everything is great because he’s a lounge cat he isn’t super active and really uses this to lay and listen to the birds and get fresh air.
