Stunning! I purchased this screen to decorate a gas fireplace in a screened porch. It is perfect for that function. Open enough to let all that warm air come through and the gold color just makes those flames dance! I would not put his in front of a woodburning fireplace because it would be ineffective in keeping sparks that fly out from that type of fire due to the open design unless you have another screen (mesh). I did add felt furniture pads under the feet for increased stability because of a teensy bit of wobble but that was just my own choice and probably not truly necessary. The screen has enough weight to make it substantial and not flimsy while still giving a very open and delicate woodsy feel. You won't regret this purchase!

For this time of year, this is the best item to complete any look. Sturdy, easy to clean & easy to move most importantly. I was afraid it was too small, but its a generous size considering measurements given. Sheer enough to enjoy fire, and thick enough to keep sparks out. Doesn't fall easily or is flimsy at all, on the lighter size in weight. Doesn't get too hot either to touch w/out gloves. Safe for children, worse is if grabbed hard it falls, but definitely not dangerous in any way. Enjoy!!

I recently purchased a house with a propane fireplace, a first for me, and needed a screen to block off the firebox itself, as I have two cats, one of whom explores EVERYTHING. I'm not even sure he'd leave it alone if a fire was actually burning in the grate. The price was incredibly good, less even than a similar screen I found at Target, and having ordered from Wayfair before, I chose to go with this company. Although lightweight, the screen is substantial and neither cat can get behind it. It fits the space perfectly. I feel that I got very good value for my money and will definitely order other pieces from this company in the future.

This is a very nice and attractive fireplace screen. It is well made, nice welds, nice paint, strong hinges and is made of more than adequate heavy duty material. There is one issue in that when the wings are open the gap at the hinge line is quite wide and would allow sparks to escape. I liked the screen enough that I decided to keep it and run a couple of strips of metal tape along the hinge line. If this doesn't bother you then this screen is a great value. Pros: Heavy Duty, Excellent Construction, Great Finish, Attractive Cons: Hinge design leaves an open gap where the wings attach.

I needed a basic, but good quality fireplace screen door to reduce the threat of hot embers flying out and to help keep heat in the house when I am not using the fireplace. Overall, I believe that this door is very well made and designed for a product within this price range. It arrived in its manufacturer package which was very secure and ensured that nothing was in danger of damage from chaffing or impact in transit. I was very happy to see that it came with every piece of hardware required to properly install it. I was able to assemble and install it in about an hour. I have your typical fireplace which had the steel lintel bar inside where the included top mounts attach. If your fireplace doesn't have a lintel bar inside, you may need to drill some holes in the brick with a masonry bit. Since I didn't need to drill any holes I only needed a phillips head screw driver, measuring tape, and scissors to set it up. I have had 2 fires in my fireplace so far with this screen and it has performed exactly as it should. The bi-fold doors on this particular model allow for the glass to be neatly tucked out of the way while you have a fire burning. Years ago I had a door set with traditional hinged doors and it was very easy to bump into them while they were open, so I think this model was worth the extra few dollars over the standard Ascot screen. I was totally not expecting these doors to be such high quality! They have single-handedly transformed not only the fireplace, but our entire living room. You’ll notice from the side view that there is a small gap between the frame and fireplace wall. (It’s not entirely flush) But that’s just because there is a decorative lip on our marble fireplace. Otherwise, it would’ve been even more perfect. Still though, it’s barely noticeable unless I were to point it out. My husband and I aren’t entirely sure if we installed the doors correctly as the instructions got a bit wonky halfway through. But regardless, the doors are quite sturdy, and the mechanisms are simple enough that you can still get these on without full instructions. If you’re on the fence, don’t hesitate. Just get it!!

My husband and I bought a Pleasant Hearth Fireplace cover and somehow had lost some of the parts.  Who knows if it was because of the chaos of Christmas, but as I went to install my hearth, I realized I was missing half of the bolts on one side and a few of the other pieces.  For someone who owns a fixer upper and the fireplace needed some attention, I was really disappointed that we had made that error.  When I called customer service to try to order more parts, the representative was AMAZING.  I received the missing parts RIGHT away and a few days later I was thrilled to be enjoying a beautiful fire in my gorgeous Pleasant Hearth.  (Plus the rep didn't treat me like the dum-dum I am for losing the parts).   Not only is it perfect for my fireplace - but it was easy to install (I usually use a high heel for a hammer - just kidding) and it's kid friendly (well, for a fireplace anyway.)  The glass doors are high quality, the screens are easy to open and stay closed due to a magnetic closure.  I feel confident that the glass is tempered glass so if anything were to happen (God forbid) the glass would shatter in a way to minimize cuts.  The tinted glass is so classy and the black metal is matte in color so it really looks sharp. I will definitely buy a Pleasant Hearth product again - - and I have recommended them to my friends and family.  Truly - I am a fan and couldn't be happier.

This was a beautiful upgrade from a 27 year old gold-plated glass screen. The screen doors and the glass doors close tightly and are magnetized firmly shut. The look is classic, nice lines and easy to install. I like this product a lot!

This fireplace screen is of high quality and looks very modern! It’s so much better looking than than the rusty brass plated one from the 70s that was replaced! For the price, this product is especially great. The screen has double doors - the inner one is a solid mesh material, which you can keep closed while the fire is going. The outer door is glass. Both doors have quality magnets to hold them solidly closed. The doors open and close smoothly, with no friction, squeaking or other noise. Again, a huge upgrade! The new screen was shipped in a very sturdy box with very good packing materials. It arrived very quickly. I think I had it about three business days after placing the order. I would recommend buying this item from Wayfair, but checking other websites for dimensions of the small, medium and large size screens. I had trouble selecting a size based on Wayfair’s information alone. I found the same screen on another site, which listed the OPENING sizes, instead of the size of the entire screen. The large screen fit very well. The assembly wasn’t too hard for my dad, who is rather handy. One of the clamps on the back happened to fall between two bricks, so we had to find a small piece of metal to cover the space between the bricks. This was the only real issue we encountered and it wasn’t a huge deal. The screen comes with some hardware and a small roll of insulation. The insulation seems to be just for show, since there is still a slight seam around the perimeter. Be sure to keep the glass doors taped close as you are working. It will make it much easier to handle the door without breaking it.

Moving to a new house, we have a nice looking brick fireplace, but it had this awful brass door. No. Just no. This door is so much better and makes our fireplace 10x's better looking. It makes our whole sitting room 10x's better looking and more modern. I love it. My husband did too. He's usually skeptical of buying these type of things online, so he wasn't too enthused that I bought this one. But, when he pulled it out of the packaging and played with the doors a bit, he remarked that it was pretty nice. It was ok to install. It did take the both of us at some points since the door can be heavy and we didn't want to place it down and scratch it or our floors. Overall, it took us about 30 minutes to install from unpacking and making sure we got everything, to reading directions, and putting it in place.

These glass doors were easy to install, and it took us less than an hour to go from box to beautiful. The clamp system makes it easy to fit the doors to any fireplace opening within the size range listed on the website. Instructions are easy to follow. As others have said, these contemporary doors change the look of our room and are an high-value upgrade from our old chain link screen. In our last house, we paid three times this price for custom doors; and while the custom fit is trimmer, I'd never do that again. These look perfectly good!

We don't have a huge fireplace but we do have crawling twin granddaughters that we wanted to keep away from the glass in front of our gas fireplace. This is attractive and keeps the heat and babies separate. Unfortunately it came with a crack in one of the diamond glass inserts. I plan to fix it with a windshield repair kit as soon as we have some sunshine to cure it!

I bought the screen about a week ago as our fireplace has no screen. I chose it based on our very rectangular stone fireplace, so the lines compliment it well. The ability to adjust it makes it great for a variety of fireplace widths. The construction seems okay; really the only thing I have an issue with is that the whole piece doesn't seem extremely secure. When I was moving it to the fireplace, it was creaking a lot like the screws were going to pop out of the screen. But once set up, it looks nice and I'm not worried about it falling apart when using it regularly. It's a nice safety for us because we can leave a few embers in there, put the screen up, and not worry about the pets getting curious or any bits popping out.

I am so impressed with Mayfair. This screen arrived with a "tiny" little hole punch in the screen. I called and was advised that they would replace it - without any charge and they advised ne to donate it to an individual or an organization. I did just that. A few days later I received my new lovely screen! Somewhere else in this town of mine, there is someone else who is enjoying a lovely fireplace screen - with a tiny little hole in it. Two for the price of one. Mayfair is the best!!!!

It's attractive, looks more expensive than it is, and it will protect our pup from the fire, which is why we bought it. Very simple to put together. I am glad to have the doors as well, because once it gets cold (I cannot wait!) it will be easier to access. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 only because the color is NOT copper, which is how it is described. It is more of a bronze color. Also, and this is kind of a biggie for people to know: The measurements are a bit confusing, because it says 31" but that is to the raised center of the screen, so the sides are lower, which leaves gaps on the side for our fireplace. All that said, it is nice, sturdy, and attractive enough that I will keep it and use it despite the minor problems.

Screen was exactly as ordered. Noticed several other reviews mentioning the poor packaging upon arrival. My package also came damaged when my screen arrived. Screen itself was not damaged but the appearance a damaged package makes on a customer is initially negative. This needs to improve. Also noticed several other reviews mentioning the chipped paint on the handles. Small areas like the handles are prone to chipping so no big deal as far as I am concerned. Makes it looks more rustic. Overall this is a great screen! It arrived ready to use, no assembly required, was a perfect fit, made of sturdy steel and all sides are welded well to include the handles. The handles are "fixed" meaning they do not swing, skinning your knuckles when you move the screen to add or stoke the fire. May not mean much to some, but skinned knuckles are not for me! Screen also fits flush against your brick or stone, leaving plenty of room on your hearth (if you have one) for a seat. Plan on buying another one for my basement fireplace. Excellent product but packaging needs to improve.

I debated this for awhile with all the other reviews...even missed a sale in it but ended up purchasing and very happy with my purchase. All other reviews are right on- the design is actual upside down from pictured and you can’t turn it due to the feet. It’s not as heavy and sturdy as most screens but I still love it for function and design. It’s not the true pure gold, slightly weathered or “vintage” look. I planned on spray painting more solid bright gold but I love it the way it is. Very subtle and still goes with the fireplace and room decor. As long as you’re ok with the semi-flaws, you’ll be happy!

Very pleased with the design and weight of this fireplace screen. I purchased it for a gas fireplace to keep our puppy out of the lava rocks (which are yummy apparently). I wanted something more simplistic so we could see the fire logs behind it whether the fire is lit or not and it’s exactly what I hoped for. I purchased the black with gold and I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because the finish is a little bit off (it looks like the gold was “wiped” on unevenly) as you can see from the close up photos. It’s not enough to bother me though. Also, delivery was 2 days later than the original FedEx tracking said. It got held up for 2 days because the “label is unreadable”. Overall I’m pleased and would recommend this.

I have always wanted a fireplace so, when I learned my new home had one, I immediately started searching for the right screen. I took the risk of purchasing it before I closed on the condo because it was such an incredible deal. I finally got to set it up today and it’s just lovely! I have a peacock theme and this compliments that perfectly. Very happy with my purchase and have received tons of compliments already. As always, Wayfair delivered it quickly (despite supply chain issues) and it was perfectly packaged. Can’t wait to see how it looks once I’m fully moved in.
