We bought this unit to install in an older home that had never had one before, and so did not have an existing switch. We weren’t sure if we would like the cover control activation or if it would feel like a compromise, but after a few weeks of use, we’d go with this style again on any future install regardless of an existing switch. Not installed yet. Its smaller than I thought, but looks very strong, and its a real great brand. 12 horse power should be more than enough for the purpose. Very easy to assemble and install.
