We bought this unit to install in an older home that had never had one before, and so did not have an existing switch. We weren’t sure if we would like the cover control activation or if it would feel like a compromise, but after a few weeks of use, we’d go with this style again on any future install regardless of an existing switch. So much easier to avoid dropping spoons in, and easier to keep clean and clear.. Emily. Arlington, VA. Mon Sep 14 2026

Activated by the magnetic Cover Start switch, it runs only when the cover is on. Featuring patented sound and grind technology, the Evolution Cover Control Plus offers high-performance and quiet operation.

Love this product - most especially the added safety of the magnetic lock to start. I did a ton of research to find the best deal and recieved really quickly. Highly recommend. We got the power kit as well (you need it if plugging in under the sink, could skip up youre hardwiring but definitely check codes in your area). We installed in a new kitchen so had the electrician wire an outlet and a switch under the sink. This way we dont need an air switch on our precious counters and have an added layer of safety if we need it. With the Control Cover activation we could technically leave it switched on all the time but I typically switch it on and off under the sink after every use.. Kelly. Calgary, AB. Wed Mar 17 2021
