Be prepared for assembly. You'll need the following: spray dish soap for lubrication, a rubber mallet and a phillips-head screwdriver. Fortunately, it's only four screws, the rest is like putting together a Lego set. It just takes some serious pounding with the rubber mallet to get the pieces to go together, and I mean serious pounding. Just fair warning. The dish soap helps to get things going. In either case, you have to wait for the weather to cooperate (and the ground to be dry) and for the contractor’s (or your) schedule to open up. In most cases, this could delay the set-up of your hot tub by weeks. It will cost you a pretty penny, too, nearly $1500+ dollars. Our spa pad (also known as the Handi-spa pad) is a faster, cheaper alternative to concrete pads and wooden decks. These 6 modular pads, which connect together to make an 8’ x 8’ area, are more than sufficient to accommodate most hot tubs. Additional pads can be purchased if you have a larger spa. It goes together in minutes: Simply place the pads where you want them, lock them together with the built-in connectors, and you’re ready to go. No mess, no waiting, no hassles, no problem. The Handi-Spa Pad is constructed of durable, weatherproof, high-density polyethylene, offered in a gray or black color. Each pad measures 32” x 48” x 2” thick and weighs 15 lbs. This lift is similar to ones I have had in the past. Installation is straightforward. I prefer this design for it carries the load at a lower point and keeps the cover further away from the spa. While I did not purchase this for anything other than to hold planters, it is PERFECT for that purpose. For the first time, I tried to save my outdoor plants over the northeast winter, but I lost most of them because they werent getting enough sun on the floor of my bathroom (and besides, they were kind of in my way). THIS BENCH IS SO STURDY that I dont have to worry about it tipping over or breaking! I have three planters on it, all filled with dirt, seeds, and one grass plant that survived. It happened to be the perfect width and height for placing under my walk-in shower window and even a perfect color, too!l still have plenty of room in the shower, and this year, I expect my outdoor summer plants to survive next winter!
