- There are multiple options for measuring a stair. These must be determined in person, and thus we cannot measure the stairway remotely. One way is to measure the total length of the diagonal of the stair from where the customer intends for the railing to start to where the customer intends for the railing to end. Again, this is determined in person, so we cannot measure the stairs for the customer. If the customer is unsure of how to measure the stairs, they should contact a local professional contractor to do the measuring for them and possibly for the stair rail installation as well.
- Able to be trimmed on site. This banister not only allows for flexible positioning of the vertical posts*but the aluminum runners and the aluminum top rail can be custom-trimmed on-site to fit your exact needs. Comes with matching plastic endcaps for the runners and the top rail that can be installed at the ends of the runners.
- Posts are designed to be mounted on a flat surface. The baseplate is not designed to mount angled surfaces or knee walls but is made to be installed directly into steps/flat surfaces.
- The top railing, the round runners, and the runner clamps are manufactured out of powder-coated aluminum. They are suitable for the outdoors. The vertical posts are manufactured out of powder-coated steel. The powder coat is rust resistant but if the powder coat was scratched or dinged through the base steel would be susceptible to rusting

Just had this railing installed into our basement stairway...it is GORGEOUS and our contractor said it was easy to assemble and install...I did have to download and print out the assembly/installation directions as none are included in the shipment but the directions were in an email sent to me via Wayfair. Very happy with our purchase!

This is one of those times where we were so concerned about the right length we missed the height and the pictures on the web site didn't help. This bannister was 10 inches taller than the old one and it looks it. Then when we started the installation we noticed that many of the parts had scratches. This was supposed to be powder coated and hard to scratch. Not so. Even with us being very careful we managed to add several scratches. Definitely not the look we were hoping for. All of the screws were bright silver, which adds to the industrial look, but again, not what we wanted. The brackets which hold the top rail were not designed for the ends, and had to be cut. The tie bracket which holds the top rail sections together was drilled loosely and this makes the top rail look warped. Is the end result sturdy and will it keep someone from falling...yes. But it is definitely a used-industrial look rather than a polished look. We are now looking for a good touch up paint to hide all the scratches.

This was an easy install. It turned out great as a stand alone railing. Set the three vertical rails and slide in the the horizontal tubes and tighten.
