This stool has been perfect for that. The stool comes with leg extenders, without it, it's the height for a low breakfast counter. But adding the extenders bring it up to barstool height. Im 5'4 and I can just barely lean my butt on it with my feet still on the floor. If I want to sit, I have to use the foot rest to step up to the seat. The stool is very sturdy. The base is wider than the seat and it feels extremely stable. I don't watch my balance or feel like I need to be careful when I'm hopping up or when I'm adjusting myself. And the whole thing is much bigger than expected. The seat is extra wide, the legs and foot rest are also wide and sturdy. The seat itself is a very padded pleather. I am quite happy with these adjustable bar stools. They arrived with each piece well wrapped and protected. They were very easy to assemble in under 5 minutes per chair. They appear to be sturdy. The hydraulics have worked well too. It is easy enough to raise the chair height but you should be sitting on it to lower it (your body weight will be helpful against the strong upward push of the hydraulics). My seats adjust from a minimum height of 24 inches up to a maximum height of 33 inches above floor level. The cushions are thick and supportive and quite comfortable. I wish the length of the seat were a little longer but still fine as is. It is very sturdy while sitting with no rocking motion, no squeaks and very easy to twist around in a full circle if desired. The red is a bright red with some orange undertone very much like the stock photo. Also see my photos for an idea of the color. I can't speak to the longevity of them since they are new to me.. Grkl. Bought these stools for my kitchen island and they look great. They are fairly sturdy, comfortable, and incredibly easy to assemble. The reason I did not give them five stars is one of the stools came with a small gouge on the leather. It's towards the bottom of the leather, so it's not noticeable, but still disappointing because they are brand new chairs. But true to myself I read the reviews prior to purchase and decided I would be smarter than everyone else and purchase a clear lacquer to cover the wood grain material. So once the chairs arrives I covered the fabric, lightly sanded the wood material, and sprayed it with the protective coat. Welp, it’s safe to say it didn’t work and the material still scuffed and dented with the slightest of friction.
