This is gorgeous when it comes together, but man is it laborious to put together. The instructions aren’t great, and it took four of us 2.5 hours to put it together . Bed came packaged for shipping very well! Instructions were clear. It took me about 2.5hrs to put the bed together. I used a ratchet with an allen attachment instead of the provided allen wrench. This is a lovely, lovely bed. The color is a little darker than I was expecting but I'm quite pleased. My teenaged grandson and I put it together and it took about 3.5 hrs total. It wasn't difficult; just more work than my back could do from the floor. I had two disappointments: 1) all of the instructions listed the bolts in mm so I had to find a ruler to identify which was what as some came in sacks and were unmarked; 2) for little extra money the company should have put metal supports on the sides rather than wood. To move this bed it has to be mostly taken apart or risk breaking the weak point over the top of the drawers. This means you really need the headboard exactly where you want it up against a wall before attaching the platform. Still, I gave this 5-stars. The drawers are large and quite functional. This bed exceeded my expectations! The packaging was excellent, each box was manageable by one person, and the directions parts labeling were very clear. The bed itself is extremely sturdy, with everything powder-coated metal and quality woodfabric. The one thing I was worried about was the function of the drawers because I have a high-pile rug. Nice bed that can be assembled by 2 adults with skills in 3 or 4 hours. The drawers didnt add much difficulty. Handy isnt the same company as Wayfair. DO NOT pay Wayfair to assemble things if you live in a small or rural community. Handy tries to find local people to work for them and you have better contacts than they do. They texted 2 hours before my appointment to assemble the bed that they couldn't find anyone to work. All I got was "sorry". I had guests coming that night... Wayfair needs a new assembly partner. This was the worst online experience I have ever had. The bed was "lost" and took 9 days longer than the anticipated delivery date. My Wayfair representative was extremely helpful in investigating the matter. The bed arrived with a broken draw, 3 separate sets of instructions and incorrectly labeled hardware pieces. It took two of us 5 hours to assemble. We normally don't an issues with assembling furniture but this bed has so many holes that were misaligned, we struggled with just about every piece. Make sure you have a power tool as my thumb became so bruised from the allen wrench they provided to assemble the bed. Everything was pictures and arrows so small that we had to break out the magnifying glass. In the end, the bed is comfortable and does what I wanted except for the fact that the head board has velcro that the pillows secure to.
