I live alone so assembly was a bit difficult but I managed by myself (6'4" dude), but for most buyers I'd imagine it would take two people to handle it. During assembly very important to leave bolts at joints loose so that they can be wiggled into tight fighting place at final stages. Prior to laying down the mattress on top, the smaller composite wood legs in the middle of the frame did not touch flush with the ground. However, with laying down the mattress and lying on it they support the weight and the frame feels sturdy/doesn't wobble. Love this bed frame!! The upholstered head and footboards are very pretty and still visible with bedding. The assembly took about 3ish hours for one person. It is well-made, and the directions were easy enough. My only complaint is that it is quite low to the ground, with little space under the bed.
